Gracie is curious and smart, and vibrant and loving. She laughs with her dad and teases her mom. Her favorite color is purple. She asks thoughtful questions and forgets nothing. Gracie was adopted at birth after a high risk pregnancy. She was in intensive care for over two weeks with a “slight, general and non-specific” neurological condition, which only meant the doctors didn’t know what was wrong with her. For three years, her condition was a mystery until she was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disorder and began treatment. Now, at 19 years old, she fills hearts with light and humility; our photoshoot could have lasted hours.
