A Soulumination Photographer

Intersections…
Crossings, junctions, points that share common spaces or times with other points. Two or more converge, diverge, meet or cross. They form borders to keep other points in or out. They establish views upon which to launch thoughts, opinions and dreams.

I’ve traversed many intersections. If sufficiently observant, each crossing brought to me other points of view that either challenged or nurtured me. I explored ways common with other people and beliefs, gathered knowledge and principles, and expanded my experiences and borders.

I recently crossed the frontier of retirement, having worked for the same company for more than 35 years. I was known as a smart, insightful creative designer, proven leader, and brand management expert. My commitment was to help build strong and innovative experiences that shaped the desired perceptions of major corporate brands. My professional joy and satisfaction was based on completing tangible, progressive designs and campaigns, implementing strategies to protect trademarks and identities, and sharing my expertise in strategic brand management and leadership.

Upon crossing that auspicious border, I lost creative purpose and direction. No longer was I to lead high impact and high visibility tasks and people; guide, mentor, coach or motivate others in the corporate realm. My technical skills in creative design, corporate identity and brand management, and various software applications were at risk.

Aristotle said, “At the intersection where your gifts, talents, and abilities meet a human need; therein you will discover your purpose." Not long after I crossed the great divide into retirement, I was asked to share my talents and resources with a local medical guild. It renewed my sense of purpose and intent. I am currently focusing my creative energy on taking
expressive photographs and producing thoughtful videos for families with disabled or seriously ill children or adults. If I happen to serve a human need, my joy is great.

Soulumination
Soulumination matches professional photographers with families who are touched by life-threatening illness. They receive photo sessions free of charge as a positive record of a child’s life and as a legacy for the children of parents lost.

I am a new photographer with Soulumination and my joy is indeed great as I share my skills with this wonderful organization. For more information visit
www.soulumination.org.

examples of my work that have been released by the families to be shared by Soulumination.

Hearts & Lens
The primary mission of Hearts & Lens is to represent disabled or seriously ill children to professional photographers in an effort to expand exceptional photographic opportunities to these unique children on a national level. Hearts & Lens has functioned as a nonprofit organization since 2000, providing unique training, specifically designed to achieve successful results with children representing each of the major disorders commonly encountered by photographers.

I have completed the Heart & Lens accreditation clinic and am now combining this new skill base with previous photographic experience to provide solid skills and compassionate service to families with disabled or seriously ill children.
